BETFAIR REVIEW
Last checked (Feb
2004). Betfair's approach is to 'revolutionise betting' and with a turnover in
excess of £50m each week they are well on their way to doing just that.
Gamblers like you and me essentially set our odds, and place bets amongst others.
Betfair takes a small (5%) commission on any winnings. You can effectively play
the bookie, or the punter, find the best odds and lay or back whatever takes your
fancy. Truly, this betting exchange is one of the best going at the moment. Many
punters, generous odds and betfair handle it all seamlessly.

The site is a bit
more tricky to navigate. It's got a lot of info to digest. After joining it's
very wise to view the demo a few times and start off with some 'dead certs' (yeah,
as if such a thing exists) to get the feel of it. I was surprised at the odds
available on some lines - sometimes 30% better than major bookies were offering.
Joining up, depositing your money and withdrawing funds have proven to be hassle
free when I've used them. Whilst there's nothing like the thrill of beating the
bookie, the betfair betting exchange provides many punters with the thrill of
'being your own bookie' and with skill reaping the rewards.

Currently they
don't have an offer, but the odds available in the betting exchange are regularly
better than traditional bookies. |
